  • Is the mentorship free?
Absolutely! This mentorship program is volunteer-based only. It is up to the mentor-mentee or peer-to-peer to set clear expectations, establish a relationship plan and create a reoccurring schedule to meet.
  • Am I able to participate virtually?
Yes! If you prefer to establish a connection virtually due to any reason, you may request to have a mentor, mentee, or peer relationship by scheduling 1:1 calls via Zoom or Google Meet.
  • Will there be resources available to help guide the mentorship or peer relationship?
Yep! The Niche will have bi-weekly newsletters, weekly and monthly activity suggestions, 1:1 discussion prompts, and blog posts to help spark inspiration and motivation for the two of you to further develop your relationship.
  • I missed the application deadline and the cohort is full. When can I reapply?
You can reapply for the 2025 cohort in January 2025! Meanwhile, consider joining The Social Club. This club, associated with The Niche Mentorship, hosts events for all our cohort members and women in Chicago, providing opportunities for socialization and networking throughout the year.
  • Will there be events to attend?
You already know! We are planning to host exclusive workshops, hangouts, and panel discussions for our cohort members. Additionally, we're preparing to launch The Social Club. This group, associated with The Niche Mentorship, will host events for all our cohort members and women in Chicago, allowing them to socialize and network throughout the year.
  • This program is for BIPOC women, but are white women discouraged from joining?
The mentorship program and our affiliate, The Social Club, warmly welcome the participation of white women who choose to join our community! While we embrace diversity and inclusivity, it's important to note that our primary focus is on fostering inclusion among women of color. Our goal is to create a supportive environment that recognizes and celebrates our shared experiences as women of color. This emphasis allows us to build a strong and meaningful network where everyone feels heard, understood, and empowered. We believe that by centering our efforts on the unique challenges and triumphs of women of color, we can create a more enriching and impactful community for all members.
